No display after a GPU upgrade

Check the system before assuming the GPU is faulty.

Steps

  1. Confirm the monitor is connected to the new GPU, not the motherboard.
  2. Make sure every GPU power connector is fully seated.
  3. Verify the selected power supply meets the GPU recommendation.
  4. Reseat the graphics card and try another DisplayPort or HDMI cable.
  5. If the system POSTs but remains blank, reset BIOS display priority to PCIe graphics.
